Automotive Future Interior Design (III)

Symmetry is not king:

Rows of the same color strips, similarly functional seats, doors and trim strips, look dull. Asymmetric interior design and fabric schemes will be the new trend, including the steering wheel and dashboard, which will be designed into different functional modules. The Mazda Taiki is a good example. Its black interior helps the driver concentrate and contrasts with the comfortable white seats and other areas of the car.

Example: Among the current models, only the hinged rear door of the Nissan Cube and the half-opening door of the Mini clubman are designed with asymmetric doors.

Smart seat:

Car seats have played many roles, such as arranging airbags, anti-collision pillows, side crash pads, maintaining a sitting position, protecting the waist, heating or cooling, massaging passengers, Vân vân. (some seats can even hold the passengers firmly in place) On the seat). Future seats will make it easier for passengers to get in and out, and its side crash pad will automatically lower when the door is opened. Toyota’s Hi-CT concept car is designed this way. The FaureciaPremium Attitude concept car lifts the middle of the seat to create a flatter surface for passengers to enter the seat.

Example: This technology also reduces the chance of wear and damage to the side cushions on the side of the door.
